My friend brought her 2000 Jetta here for an issue that she was having. She was young and didn't know that VR6 timing chains require periodic maintenance. She was frustrated beyond the point of caring about it anymore so she gave me the car. When I went to pick it up, they had pulled the engine and transmission. They didn't drain any fluids before doing so. They hurried to gather parts that were scattered all over the shop into boxes. The catalytic converter had been cut off the car while in their "secure lot". I'm just beside myself remembering how unprofessional and not knowledgeable in VW repair these hacks must've been. Who completely disassembles someone's car before they figure out that the are completely out of their depth? BJ's one stop car destroying shop. That's who. To top it all off, they wanted $450 for a storage fee. I guess they counted on her not wanting to pay the storage bill so they started pulling high value recyclables off of it. STEER CLEAR!
DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT BACK IN A REASONABLE TIME TO BJ'S AUTOMOTIVE The staff at BJ's were very personable, and easy to get along with; that being said, that was the only positive about my entire experience. I took my truck there to get an issue with leaf springs/ brakes fixed. When I first got into contact with them I had told them that it was a cheap run-a-round truck that I took to work everyday, so I did not want to spend too much money to fix it. They assured me that it wouldn't be much more than $400, and if it were to for some reason go over, they would give me a call to let me know what was going on. 2 weeks after I dropped it off, I had heard nothing from them, so I decided to call and see what the issues/progress might be. They told me that someone was in the shop at that moment working on the truck and that it would be done soon. (They mentioned nothing to me about what was going on or price at that time) 8 days after my phone call, so 22 days after I dropped it off, they called to tell me it was done and that it was $752. They told me that there were things that needed to be done or more things would go wrong, that they did not know about whenever they initially gave me a rough estimate quote. I paid the money, got the truck back.. only to have more problems with the brakes that they never fixed when they had my truck in the first place (but were more than willing to spend my money on extra repairs that I never requested, because they were necessary) I then took my truck back to get the remaining brake issue fixed, only to be charged $233 more. What I was told would be no more than $400, came out to total $985. The part that bothered me about my whole experience, was that they never called me to tell me that the price would go over $400, and they did not fix everything when they had it the first time..not to mention they had it for a total of 24 days by the time it was all said and done. This is all sad to say because they were good people, and seem to have done good BUT VERY SLOW work, but I will not EVER be going back, and will be sure to tell EVERYONE that I know about the experience that I had.
