I'm pretty disappointed with their customer service. My boss set aside two of his steers this year, one for his family and one for my coworker and I to split. He really "babied" them, needless to say we were all pretty excited for the final product. My coworker called Chet and Bills to ask for a cut sheet and never did get one. I called and asked for one to be emailed because they don't have a fax machine and never received one. I called back and told the lady i never did get an email and asked if it was ok if I just sent in my own, to which she replied, "yes." I asked for all of my steaks to be cut 1.5" thick(which is the max most processors will do) and to have all of the steaks except the tenderloins be packaged individually. My coworker ended up going in person to go over the cut sheet since they never did send one. I had him take a printed copy of my email just for good measure. Last Saturday I went to pick my order up and had a very nice conversation with Bill, which is why i wanted to speak with him today. When I got home to go over everything i noticed for the most part that all of my steaks were double packaged. This might seem like a trivial issue, but when you have your steaks cut 1.5" thick, you end up with a pretty good cut of meat. My wife is lucky to eat a third of a 3/4" thick steak, so the reasoning was, "we'll get the steaks cut thick and just share one." Today I called in to talk to Bill to see where the disconnect was. I clearly had it on my list that was emailed to them and delivered in person. Bill was out to lunch so Chet returned the call. At first he told me they didn't do one per package, to which i informed him they did for my coworker on all of his steaks. Then he told me it's at an extra charge. After dropping $750 on half a cow that was raised with no hormones, no antibiotics and had the feed poured through it while being finished, an extra $10 was nothing. To them they messed up on a portion of a $162.50 ticket. To me they messed up on a cow my boss had raised to butcher for his own family, my coworker and myself in over 10 years. Again, this might seem like no big deal and in the grand scheme of things it's not, but it's pretty much the same as going out to a nice steakhouse, ordering a great steak you're excited about trying and them bringing you two and then making you pay for their mistake. Will you eat it, yes. Do you want to eat the same thing two nights in a row, probably not, but will. I gave Chet several opportunities without asking for anything to try and make it right(honestly it wouldn't have taken much). Instead he just apologized and laughed it off saying humans will make mistakes, to which i agreed. I will not have anything processed there again. They do good work. I'm just disappointed they didn't follow my very clear and simple packaging request and Chet had no intentions of even trying to make it right in the end.
