Definitely do your research when choosing instructors. I’ve had some pretty good instructors who taught me a lot and were respectful, and I’ve had instructors that were a waste of time and money or were just awful to deal with. I had one in particular who was very egotistical because they wrote a (self-published) book and pretty much used class to hawk their book and was very condescending and rude towards their students. I had another who rarely showed up to teach their class.
