One of the better and more permanently established Greek restaurants in St. Louis, Olympia serves all the prerequisite Greek options and has a good selection of alcohol and congenial atmosphere of a local pub restaurant. The gyro is great. The staff is always attentive. Parking is across the street, don't cross until you've got the light, in the last few years more than one person has been struck by a car at this intersection, at least once leading to a fatality. The gyro is good, but it's not that good.
My son and I must have gone to a totally different place last night, than the rest of these glowing reviews, on line. The steam table had no lights, so you couldn't see what was what. No telling how long it had been sitting. Reason to have no lights? Was so dark in the interior. Maybe not clean? My Moussaka (generous portion) was horrible and the side salad was stuffed into a salad dressing container. $11.99. My son's slices of meat no better and Greek salad was just so so. Never do take out again or afraid to ever eat in. Want really good Greek (fresh) food, don't miss the Greek Festival in CWE Labor Day weekend? I never write reviews good or bad, but just had to comment on this one. Was not cheap to boot.
